European Course on CCLLIIMMAATTEE CCHHAANNGGEE,, CCUULLTTUURRAALL HHEERRIITTAAGGEE AANNDD RRIISSKK CCLLIIMMAATTEE CCHHAANNGGEE,, CCUULLTTUURRAALL HHEERRIITTAAGGEE AANNDD RRIISSKK ENERGY, MOBILITY AND ACCESS Ravello, Italy, 3-7 October 2011 The demands to limit use of non renewable resources and legislation that reduces carbon footprint create new risks and challenges for the management of cultural heritage. New approaches to management must seek reduce energy consumption, diversifying access and might emphasize a new philosophy of conservation. This course will address the uncertainty and complexity of evidence based decision making in a changing world. It will outline the link between energy, mobility, access and policy in the area of climate change and cultural heritage and the opportunities for managed heritage sites to be seen as exempla of sustainability for the public at large. The final aim is to create a dialogue between heritage managers and decision makers for a more robust policy.
